Marco Borsato Interview transcript Broadcast on the Belgian TV Show "De Rode Loper" ("The Red Carpet") Performing before 20 000 people at the Gelredome (a sport stadium in Arnhem) remains special, no matter how often you have done so. That doesn't matter - it is a high level exam, it is really something I become nervous about, even though I have done it many times. Again, my hands are wet becuase of the nerves. I am intensely happy, you know, when you are allowed to this. So many people deriving pleasure from your music - that is .. the best prefession you can have. The show content is higher than I ever before have put in - but the most beautiful thing is that all the small things fell into place. It always revolves around the music, the rest forms the packaging. Every evening something happens - someone who gives you a smile or wink, or asks for attention in a humorous way - so really every evening is different, it is never the same. It is dynamic happening, not something static. In your performance, there have to be moments in which you are touched, in which music releases something in you. On the other hand there also have to be moments of relaxation and release, in which you can sing along or dance along. It has become such a big thing, much more so than I ever thought could be possible - it is really beyond all proportions, something that happens to world stars, but which you don't expect to happen to someone from Holland, from Alkmaar. ---------------- And now a standing ovation for Andrea Bocelli! Undeniably, Andrea Bocelli is one of the greatest stars ever on this earth, you can mention him in one breath with the Pavarotti's of this world. When people like him accept my invitation and without hesitation say they would love to sing live with me, then you are really happy with such an evening on which a DVD is recorded.
